Only humans like it tidy
Busy on my late spring "tidy up" in the Tinui Food Forest.
That basically consists of making space in the Food Forest for the plants that I want- so chopping and dropping around fruit trees, berries, currants, herbs, and etc!
What I am very careful of is not to be too "tidy". As soon as a garden is tidy - you know - bare soil, everything neatly trimmed- then goodbye to an abundance of life. The garden needs to be- at the very least- a bit wild around the edges! That way you are not depriving birds and insects and soil microrganisms and etc of the food and habitat that they need.
It's just a kinder way to garden really!
And don't worry- the Tinui Food Forest will NEVER be tidy!
A healthy thriving ecosystem for all of the inhabitants of the Food Forest is guaranteed!
