Baby Chickens and Guinea Fowl Everywhere!
10 baby guinea fowls hatched! And the proud mother of 9 of them? Meet our lovely Mabel Chicken. Mabel sat determinedly on the eggs for around 3 weeks. Mabel and her chicken helper "Auntie" are busy raising this little clutch. The reason for this slightly confusing situation is that guinea fowl dont make the best parents- they lose them, they stand on them, and etc.. In fact the little lavender guinea fowl chick that I'm holding was actually left behind by its mother guinea fowl. But don't worry folks- Mabel to the rescue! Luckily she's not so great on counting, and one more just blended in!
A very abundant time in the Food Forest! Baby chickens and guinea fowl everywhere!!
