Comfrey is a must-have for your fruit trees and other plants. The deep roots of comfrey make nutrients available to the surrounding plants- particularly the fruit trees in your food forest.
I use comfrey in my food forest as a sort of nursemaid crop -it keeps the grass at bay, nourishes the surrounding plants and trees and is great for the soil.
Comfrey is also an excellent crop for fertiliser - either by using it as a “chop n drop” crop, or by making your own comfrey tea! Plants love it!
